Context

I led the design, development, and integration of a crypto-fiat payment card, connecting a traditional Mastercard payment network to a decentralized, blockchain-based infrastructure, within a Web3 financial services company. The project involved several companies in developing the solution, within a legal framework that was still a gray area.

The real problem

The project involved external partners whose technical constraints weren't fully known at the outset β€” the integration couldn't be designed from an internal perspective alone.

The approach

Defining the technical requirements of the bridge between the two systems, adjusting the architecture as constraints were identified with partners, ongoing coordination through to implementation.

The result

A functional product connecting the two systems went into production, despite partner constraints that required several architecture adjustments along the way β€” a result made more notable by the coordination of several companies it involved, and by navigating a legal framework that was still a gray area.
